On Wednesday night (March 12), Rod Stewart took the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to perform his 200th show as part of his ongoing Las Vegas residency. The 80-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer celebrated the occasion by taking a shot of Wolfie’s Whisky – which Stewart founded – after he was presented with a gold record by a Caesars executive to commemorate the milestone. After throwing back the drink, he quipped, “Showbiz.” The 100-minute performance was the first night of a planned 12-date residency which Stewart is calling, The Encore Shows. The set – in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,100 fans – showcased Stewart’s timeless hits like “Forever Young,” “Maggie May,” and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” while also nodding to his influences by covering artists like Muddy Waters, Cat Stevens, and John Fogerty. “I’m enjoying myself so much. I’m so privileged,” Stewart said. (People)
